(a) to (e): In February 2018, the Government of India announced establishment of 1,50,000
Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs), erstwhile Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres
(AB-HWCs), across the country by December 2022 by transforming existing Sub-Health Centres
(SHC) and Primary Health Centres (PHC) in rural and urban areas to deliver the expanded range of
comprehensive primary healthcare services which are universal, free, and closer to the community.
As reported by States/UTs on AAM portal, a total of 1,78,154 AAMs have been operationalized in
the country including 444 in Sidhi Parliamentary Constituency of Madhya Pradesh, as on
15.07.2025.
TheseAAMsprovide preventive,promotive,rehabilitativeandcurativecare foranexpanded
range of services across the country including in Cuttack district of Odisha encompassing
reproductive and child healthcare services, Communicable diseases, Non-communicable diseases
and other health issues. Wellness-related activities like Yoga, cycling, and meditation are also
conducted in AAMs. Under Free Drugs and Free Diagnostics Service Initiative, Government of
India provides financial support to States/UTs for essential drugs & diagnostic tests at SHC-AAMs
and PHC-AAMs. The teleconsultation services, available at operational AAMs, enables people to
access the specialist services closer to their homes addressing concerns of physical accessibility,
saving cost tocare,shortage of service providersandtoensure continuumof care.
As informed by Government of Madhya Pradesh, an amount of Rs. 37.15 crore has been
allocated for Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) in Sidhi Parliamentary constituency of Madhya
Pradesh under National Health Mission (NHM), XV Finance Commission and State Budget from
FY2022-23 toFY2024-25.
As informed by Government of Odisha, an amount of Rs. 8.55 crore has been allocated for
AyushmanArogyaMandirs(AAMs)inCuttackdistrict from FY2022-23 toFY2024-25.
From FY 2022-23 to FY 2024-25, for State of Chhattisgarh, Rs. 277.70 crore has been
approved for Sub-Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the
State of Chhattisgarh under NHM. Total 5,876 AAMs have been operationalised till 31.03.2025,
out of which 1153 operationalised in FY 2022-23, 144 in 2023-24 and 67 in 2024-25. Under XVth
Finance Commission, approvals to the tune of Rs. 254.37 crore for construction of 872
building-less SHCs and Rs. 403.68 crore for establishment of 364 Urban-AAMs have been given
for Chhattisgarh.
