On December 8, 2025, Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 1325, submitted by Shri Manish Jaiswal, asked the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports about the potential upgrading and restructuring of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) training center in Padma (Hazaribagh), Jharkhand. The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, responded that there is no current proposal under consideration to upgrade or restructure the SAI Training Centre at Padma, Hazaribagh. The SAI Training Centre (STC) scheme is currently being implemented there, providing selected athletes with support and financial assistance for expert coaches, sports equipment, boarding, lodging, sports kit, competition exposure (Domestic and Foreign), educational expenses, miscellaneous insurance, and contingencies, as per approved Scheme norms.

Upgradation of SAI Training Centre

Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is contemplating upon upgrading and
restructuring the Sports Authority of India (SAI) training centre at
Padma (Hazaribagh) in Jharkhand to provide modern and quality
training facilities to the players;
(b) if so, whether the said centre is proposed to be upgraded as a
"Regional Sports Centre"; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c): Currently, no proposal regarding upgrading and
restructuring of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Training Centre at
Padma, Hazaribagh is under consideration. Further, the SAI Training
Centre (STC) scheme is currently being implemented at Padma,
Hazaribagh Training Centre where selected athletes are provided
support /financial assistance in the form of expert coaches, sports
equipment, boarding, lodging, sports kit, competition exposure
(Domestic and Foreign), educational expenses, Misc. Insurance &
Contingencies as per the approved Scheme norms.
