Bag Mitali: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) the number of sanctioned posts and existing vacancies in the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), covering both faculty and non-faculty positions; (b) the details of recruitment in permanent positions in NVS (faculty and non-faculty) carried out since 2014 in the country, year-wise and category-wise; (c) the details of the number of contractual staff engaged by NVS since 2014, for both faculty and non-faculty posts, year-wise; (d) the details of the number of posts filled by candidates belonging to EWS, OBC and SC/ST categories in NVS both faculty and non-faculty positions, category-wise; and (e) whether reservation norms have been adhered to in the engagement of contractual staff in NVS and if so, the category-wise details of contractual staff from EWS, OBC and SC/ST categories? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a) to (e): Vacancies keep on arising due to opening of new Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs), retirement, resignation, promotion of employees, transfer, employees going on lien to another department and up-gradation of schools. Filling up of vacancies is a continuous process and efforts are made to fill up the vacancies as per the provisions of the relevant recruitment rules. Teachers are also engaged on contractual basis for temporary duration at the local level against sanctioned posts, whenever regular or leave vacancies arise in a NV to ensure that the teaching- learning process is not hampered. Regular appointment is made by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) through direct recruitment process as per the recruitment rules of NVS incorporating the reservation norms as notified by the Government of India from time to time.
