Will the Ministerof HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate:
(a) the details of sanctioned, in-position and vacant posts of teaching, medical
professionals andnon-teaching staffingeneralandreserved categoryinvariousAIIMS of the
country including Madurai, AIIMS-wise and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical
EducationandResearch(JIPMER),Puducherry;
(b) the details of recruitment undertaken for teaching, medical professionals and non-
teaching
staffinvariousAIIMSofthecountryduringthelastthreeyearsandthecurrentyear,year-wise;
(c) the reasons for non-filling of vacant posts, especially for reserved categories in this
regard;
(d) whether any timeline has been fixed for filling up of all the vacant posts including
reserved category;and
(e) ifso,thedetailsthereofandifnot,thereasonstherefor?
ANSWER

(SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a)to(f): The details of sanctioned, in-position, vacant faculty and non-faculty position
(including reserved category) during last three years and current year, in various functional
All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate
Medical Educationand Research (JIPMER), Puducherryare at Annexure.
Creation of posts and recruitment is a continuous and dynamic process. Filling up of vacant
faculty/non-faculty positions is contingent on various factors including availability of
suitable/eligible/qualified doctors/health professionals, reservation roster, location of the
Institute etc. In order to expeditiously fill vacant sanctioned positions in various AIIMS
following special measures have beentakenby the Ministry of HealthandFamilyWelfare:
(i) Standing Selection Committee has been constituted in each Institute as per the
provision of theirrespective Act for selectionof facultyetc.(ii) Provision has been made for engagement of retired faculty at the level of Professor,
Additional Professor and Associate Professor, on contract basis, in new AIIMS, up to the age
of 70 years from Institutes of National Importance (INIs) and Government Medical Colleges
(GMCs).
(iii) Visiting Faculty Scheme has been formulated to allow Professors, Additional
Professors and Associate Professors, who are holding academic positions in Government
Institutions within India or academic institutions outside India, to be the Visiting Faculty in
newAIIMS for teachingpurposes.
(iv) Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) is conducted by
AIIMS Delhi for recruitment of Nursing Officers for various AIIMS and other Institutes
includingJIPMER, Puducherry.
(v) Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) in 2025 was conducted by AIIMS Delhi
twice in the year for recruitment to Group B and C non-faculty positions for various AIIMS
andotherInstitutes including JIPMER, Puducherry.
(vi) The Institute of National Importance CombinedEntranceTest (INI-CET) for selection
of Junior Residents (Academic) and the Institute of National Importance Super Speciality
(INI-SS) Exam for selection of Senior Residents (Academic) for various AIIMS are
conductedbyAIIMS Delhi twice a year.
