Shri Tatkare Sunil Dattatrey: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) the number and percentage of schools having the following facilities such as constant electricity supply, internet connection, printer, desktop and Children With Special Needs (CWSN) friendly washrooms in the country, State/UT-wise; (b) the number of schools that have organised at least one medical camp during the last one year in the country, State/UT-wise; (c) the number and percentage of schools complying with Government prescribed PTR (Pupil Teacher Ratio) norms in the country, State/UT-wise and particularly for the State of Maharashtra; (d) the number of schools having only one teacher along with the number of students enrolled in such schools and the average PTR in these schools in the country, State/UT-wise and particularly for the State of Maharashtra; (e) the details of initiatives taken by the Government to fill vacancies in aforementioned schools; and (f) the number of technology aids (such as digital smartboards, tablets, etc.) provided under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan to schools along with the cost incurred in this regard, State/UT-wise? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a): As per Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) 2024-25, State/UT wise number and percentage of schools having electricity facility, internet connection, computer and Children With Special Needs (CWSN) toilets are available at https://www.education.gov.in/en/parl_ques. (b): As per UDISE+ 2024-25, State/UT wise percentage of schools which conducted at least one medical checkup in last academic year are available at https://www.education.gov.in/en/parl_ques. (c): National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommends a pupil-teacher ratio (PTR) of under 30:1 at the level of each school and under 25:1 in the areas having large numbers of socio-economically disadvantaged students. As per UDISE+ 2024-25, State/UT wise (including Maharashtra) Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR) is available at https://www.education.gov.in/en/parl_ques. (d): As per UDISE+ 2024-25, State/UT wise (including Maharashtra) single teacher schools and enrolment in these schools is available at https://www.education.gov.in/en/parl_ques. (e): Education being a subject in the Concurrent List of the Constitution, an overwhelming majority of the schools in the country comes under the administrative control of States/UTs. The recruitment, serviceconditions and rational deployment of teachers fall under the purview of the respective State Governments/UT Administrations. Recruitment of teachers is a continuous process, and vacancies arise on account of various factors such as retirement, resignation and increased requirement of teachers due to growth in student enrolment. The Central Government through the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Samagra Shiksha, provides financial assistance to the States and UTs to maintain appropriate Pupil- Teacher Ratio (PTR) for various levels of schooling, as per norms prescribed in the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009, as amended from time to time. (f): Under Samagra Shiksha, State/UT wise physical and financial sanctions of ICT and smart classrooms for the year 2025-26 and tablets for elementary level teachers for the same period are available at https://www.education.gov.in/en/parl_ques. ******
