Shri Kalyan Banerjee: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) the total number of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) workers in the country since the year 2020 to till 31 January 2026, State and year-wise; (b) the details of Central Budget allocation and sanctions for MGNREGS since the year 2021 to till 31 January, 2026, Year- wise and State-wise; (c) the details of budget and allocation for financial year 2026-27 against the fully funded centrally funded for unskilled wages under MGNREGS with VB-G-RAM-G schemes a 60:40 (Centre:State) funding, State-wise; (d) the details of State Exchequer (40 per cent) now needed in State Budget for the financial year 2026-27; and (e) the detailed report from States regarding confirmation of funds to arrange on account of 40 per cent State funding to achieve 100 per cent of enhance employment to 125 days from present 100 days per household? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a): States/UTs and year wise number of workers who availed employment under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi NREGS) since financial year 2020-21 to current financial year 2025-26 (as on 19.03.2026) is given at Annexure-I. (b): The details of funds allocation at Budget Estimate stage and Revised Estimate stage under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS since Page 1 of 4financial year 2020-21 to current financial year 2025-26 (as on 19.03.2026) are given below: (Rs. in crore) SI. State/UT-wise, details of total funds released under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS since 2020-21 to current financial year 2025- 26 (as on 31.01.2026) are given at Annexure-II. (c) to (e): The Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, provides for one hundred and twenty-five days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work. As the Act is yet to commence, the Ministry is yet to finalise the detailed rules, including those relating to normative allocation based on objective parameters, in due consultation with States/UTs. Here it is also stated that for the financial year 2026–27, a Central share provision of Rs. 95,692.31 crore has been made for the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), representing the largest allocation ever for rural employment progamme at Budget Estimate Stage. With the likely inclusion of the corresponding estimated State share, the total programme outlay is likely to exceed Rs.1.51 lakh crore, which is expected to significantly accelerate rural transformation, large-scale employment generation and income enhancement in rural areas. ***** Page 2 of 4Annexure-I Annexure referred to in reply to part (a) of Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 5215 dated 24.03.2026.
