Ministry of Information & Broadcasting PIB Nagpur organizes IMPCC workshop on 'Media and Communication Strategies to Enhance Organizational Outreach' "IMPCC plays a pivotal role in facilitating the government communication in a coordinated manner" DG, West Zone, Ministry of I & B, Smita Vats Sharma Posted On: 24 MAR 2026 6:59PM by PIB Mumbai Nagpur, 24 March 2026 The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Nagpur under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized Inter Media Publicity and Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting at Chitinvis Center Civil Lines on Tuesday 24th March 2026. The Meeting was organized with an aim to to improve communication within governmental organizations and agencies across the public sector. The meeting was presided over by the Director General, West Zone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ms. Smita Vats Sharma. Representatives of around 40 government and public sector organizations in Nagpur participated in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, DG West Zone, Ministry of I&B, Ms. Smita Vats Sharma highlighted the pivotal role of Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee -IMPCC for facilitating the government communication in a coordinated manner. She said that ,to ensure these initiatives reach the public, effective communication and cooperation among all these departments and institutions are essential and IMPCC gives a common platform for such information dissemination. During the meeting, Smt. Sharma also expressed her intention to organize a capacity-building workshop focused on handling social media tools for effective communication.The DG encouraged government organizations to share updates with PIB for better media outreach.She also urged all present to use social media hashtags and social media tools for effective and wider engagement of all stakeholders in publicity campaigns of Central Government Deputy Director, Press Information Bureau Smt.Jaydevi Pujari Swami took the audience through the power point presentation, in which she explained about the work being undertaken by the PIB to publicize the various schemes and initiatives implemented by different government departments. She also infomed that, the PIB also facilitates media visits from other states to showcase Maharashtra's development projects, with recent teams from Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Odisha visiting organizations like JNPA,NSE, Defence Establishments and landmark Heritage Sites like Ellora Caves.More than 40 Central Government institutions—including the NADT, Department of Posts, Railways, AIIMS, NDRF, IIM, BSNL, NTPC, NHAI, Doordarshan, and Akashvani, IGNOU, Weavers Service Cenre, National Handloom Corporation, VNIT Nagpur, BSNL, DGFT, NSO, GSI, RCONF, SECR, Defence Public Relations, CRC, KKSU,RSTMNU, NMC, Mahametro, SCZCC, NEERI, IIIT, KVIC .MSME-DI Nagpur participated in this meeting.
