powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Destructive Insects and Pests Act, 1914 (2 of 1914), the Central Government hereby makes the following Order further to amend the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003, namely:- 1. Short title and Commencement.- (1) This Order may be called the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Fourteenth Amendment) Order, 2023. (2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Schedule VI.- In the Schedule VI to the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003 - in serial number 497, against the entries relating to Persea Americana (Avocado) in column (2) and against the entries relating to Fresh fruits for consumption in column (3) the following entries relating thereto in columns (4), (5) and (6), shall be inserted, namely:-4 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(ii)] Country of Additional declarations required to be Special conditions of import Origin incorporated into Phytosanitary Certificate (4) (5) (6) Free from: i. Export consignment must comply with a systems approach for production, i. Avocado sunblotch viroid (Avocado sun processing, and export of avocado fresh blotch) fruit (or) ii. Bactrocera aquilonis (Northern Territory fruit ii. Pest free area status for fruit flies as per fly) ISPM Standards (or) iii. Bactrocera jarvisi iii. In-transit cold treatment at 0oC or below (Jarvis' fruit fly) for 10 days; 0.55oC or below for 11 days; 1.1o C or below for 12 days against fruit iv. Bactrocera tryoni (Queensland fruit fly) fly(or) Pre-shipment treatment options as v. Ceratitis capitata (Mediterranean fruit fly) follows, Cold treatment at 0oC or below for 10 days; 0.55oC or below for 11 days; (v) Australia vi. Ceroplastes destructor (White wax scale) 1.1o C or below for 12 days against fruit vii. Diaporthe perseae (syn. Phomopsis perseae) fly (or) (Branch canker, avocado stem-end rot iv.
