This represents an increase of 37.39 lakh hectares over the area sown in 2024-25 (1002.41 lakh hectares).
Key highlights by crop include:
* **Rice:** Area sown is 398.59 lakh hectares, an increase of 35.67 lakh hectares from 2024-25.
* **Pulses:** Area sown is 109.52 lakh hectares, an increase of 1.14 lakh hectares from 2024-25. Within pulses, Tur shows an increase of 1.34 lakh hectares, Urad shows an increase of 0.92 lakh hectares, and Moong shows an increase of 0.94 lakh hectares.

* **Cotton:** Area sown is 107.87 lakh hectares, an increase of 3.24 lakh hectares from 2024-25.
