The Ministry of Tourism is implementing the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) scheme, which provides financial assistance to State Governments and Union Territory Administrations for tourism infrastructure development at identified religious and heritage sites. As of July 31, 2025, 54 projects have been sanctioned under PRASHAD, with an estimated cost of Rs. 1726.74 Crores. Additionally, under the guidelines for Special Assistance to States/Union Territories for Capital Investment (SASCI) for Development of Iconic Tourist Centres to Global Scale, the Government of India has approved 40 projects across 23 States for an amount of Rs. 3295.76 Crore. The Ministry of Tourism under the “Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive”
(PRASHAD) provides financial assistance to the State Governments and Union Territory Administrations for
development of tourism infrastructure at identified religious and heritage sites across the country. The
Ministry has sanctioned 54 projects under the PRASHAD at an estimated cost of Rs.1726.74 Crores, the
details of which is given in the Annexure-I.
The Government of India under the guidelines for Special Assistance to States/Union Territories for
Capital Investment (SASCI) for Development of Iconic Tourist Centres to Global Scale has
approved 40 projects across 23 States for an amount of Rs.3295.76 Crore. The details of the
