NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section-3 read with Section-9 and 361 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, the Town Municipal Area of Harapanahalli of Vijayanagar District is proposed to be notified as the “Smaller Urban Area” as mentioned in Schedule “A” along with the boundaries mentioned in Schedule “B” and further to declare as the “City Municipal Council of Harapanahalli” and constitute the City Municipal Council to the said smaller urban area with effect from the date of publishing this Notification in the Official Gazette by His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka for the purpose of administration having regard to:4 i. The population of such area is not less than fifty thousand; ii. The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five hundred inhabitants to one square kilo meter of area; iii. The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees nine lakhs per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees forty-five per capita per annum, whichever is higher; iv. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty per cent of the total employment. The Notification is hereby published for the information of the Public. All the persons, who would like to file any objection/suggestion to this Notification are hereby required to submit the same with reasons in writing to the Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration, 9th Floor, V.V.Tower, Bengaluru within 30 days from publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette. Further, Notification will be taken up for final consideration after the mentioned period of 30 days. It continues through survey numbers 247, 245, 234, and 233, then intersects another road including Harapanahalli and survey number 233. From there, it passes through the Harapanahalli-Nichapur-Gudigunta route and follows the western boundary, crossing survey numbers 231, 230, 218, 217, 216, 213, 211, 210, 185, 184, 182, 181, 180, 178, 69, and 68. The boundary then follows the Harapanahalli-R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 5 Shrungaratota road, starting from survey number 71, and continues through 67, 66, 64, 61, 60, 59, 58, 56, 55, and 53. Further, it extends through 66, 67, 64, 61, 60, 59, 56, 58, 55, and 53, marking the town’s boundary through Harapanahalli village limits, hill areas, and Inam lands. West: Starting from the northwestern corner at Karekallu Hill (Survey No. 1), the boundary extends downward to Survey Nos. 5, 6, and 7, reaching the southwestern corner. It continues through survey numbers 4, 5, 6, 7, 89, 91, 110, 113, 114, 121, 122, and 123, crossing Harapanahalli-Hadagali road at Survey No. 124. It then extends through survey numbers 125, 128, 133, 134, and 136, crossing the Harapanahalli- Hulikatte road at Survey No. 137. Further, it moves downward through Survey Nos. 138, 139, 570, 571, 572, 573, 574, 575, 584, 585, 587, 590, 591, 592, 617, 618, 619, 620, 621, 623, 624, and 625, then crosses Harapanahalli road. From there, it follows Survey Nos. 610, 690, 607, 608, 605, 604, 531, 495, 494, and 493, crossing the cart track at Survey No. 472. The boundary continues through Survey Nos. 626, 474, 651, 629, 630, 632, 633, 689, 646, 647, and 490, extending until it reaches the southwestern corner of Madapur, Nanyapur, and the hill areas, marking the limit of Harapanahalli Town Municipality. North: Starting from the Northeastern corner, the boundary extends through Survey No. 58, following the northwestern border through Survey Nos. 52, 51, 50, 48, 31, 30, 25, 24, 23, 22, and 21. It then crosses the Harapanahalli-Hospet road at Survey No. 17 and enters Survey No. 15, finally reaching the northwestern corner at Survey No. All these survey numbers belong to Harapanahalli village, extending through Kayak, Shrungaratota, and Bagali villages, reaching Inam lands. This forms the northern boundary of Harapanahalli Town Municipality. South: Starting from the southwestern corner of Survey No. 440, the boundary extends towards the southeastern corner, passing through Survey Nos. 648 and 489. After crossing a small stream, it enters Survey No. 642 and continues through Survey Nos. 643, 644, 450, 449, 447, 446, 445, 441, and 440. After crossing another stream at Survey No. 437, it enters Survey No. 436, then crosses the Harapanahalli- Kyarakatti road at Survey No. 437. From there, the boundary follows a cart track northward, passing through Survey Nos. 410, 388, 397, 395, and 394, crossing the Manjurayana Katte at Survey No. 393. It continues through Survey Nos. 392 and 391, crosses another cart track, and then Devara Timlapura road at Survey No. 300. Further, it enters Survey Nos. 352 and 351, then Survey No. 439, continuing through Survey Nos. 340, 339, 337, 336, 334, 333, 385, and 384, following the eastern boundary. It extends further through Survey Nos. 283, 282, and 262, crossing the Harapanahalli-Adavihalli road, finally reaching the southeastern corner at Survey No.260.
