As of November 21, 2025, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare reported the progress of area coverage under Rabi crops.
Rabi crop sowing has exceeded 306 lakh hectares. Pulses have covered 73.36 lakh ha as compared to 68.15 lakh ha during the corresponding period of last year, with gram, lentil, and field pea covering 53.71, 9.01, and 5.58 lakh ha respectively. Shri Anna & Coarse Cereals have covered 19.69 lakh ha, with jowar, bajra, ragi, small millets, maize and barley covering 8.99, 0.04, 0.49, 0.11, 6.57 and 3.50 lakh ha respectively. Oilseeds have crossed 76.64 lakh hectares with rapeseed & mustard, groundnut, safflower, sunflower, sesamum and linseed covering 73.80, 1.12, 0.46, 0.16, 0.02 and 0.98 lakh ha respectively.
Wheat and rice coverage is at 128.37 and 8.26 lakh ha, respectively.
