(2) सजमजत के कायःा -
इस सजमजत का काया संजवधान में रािभािा संबंधी प्रावधानों, रािभािा अजधजनयम व जनयम के उपबंधों,
केन्द द्रीय हहिं ी सजमजत के जनणायों तथा गृह मंत्रालय (रािभािा जवभाग) द्वारा िारी जनिेिों, अनुिेिों के कायाान्द वयन
और कृजि एवं ककसान कल् याण मंत्रालय के कामकाि में हहिं ी के प्रगामी प्रयोग को बढान े के बारे में सलाह िेना ह।ै
(3) सजमजत का कायका ालः-
सजमजत का कायाकाल सामान्द यत: उसके गठन की जतजथ से 3 विा तक होगा बित े कक:
(क) ऐसा सिस्ट् य, िो संसि सिस्ट् य ह,ै यकि वह संसि सिस्ट् य नहीं रहता ह ैतो वह सजमजत का भी सिस्ट् य नहीं रहगे ा;
(ख) सजमजत के पिेन सिस्ट् य तब तक सिस्ट् य बने रहगें ,े िब तक कक वे उन पिों पर ह,ैं जिनके कारण व ेसजमजत के सिस्ट् य
बने ह;ैं
(ग) यकि सजमजत के ककसी सिस्ट् य के त् याग पत्र, मृत् य ु आकि के कारण कोई ररजक्त होती ह ैतो उसके स्ट्थान पर जनयुक्त
होने वाला सिस्ट् य सजमजत की ििे अवजध के जलए ही सिस्ट् य होगा;
(घ) जविेि पररजस्ट् थजतयों में मंत्रालय द्वारा सजमजत का कायाकाल घटाया या बढाया िा सकता ह।ै
(4) सामान्दय ः-
सजमजत का मुयय ालय नई किल् ली में होगा, यकि सजमजत आवश् यक समझे तो अपनी बैठकें ककसी अन्द य स्ट् थान पर भी
आयोजित कर सकती ह।ै
(5) यात्रा भत्त ा तथा अन्दय भत्त :े -
(क) रािभािा जवभाग के किनांक 03.02.2006 के कायाालय ज्ञापन संय या II/20034/04/2005-रा.भा. (नीजत-2) के
तहत, सजमजत म ें नाजमत संसि सिस्ट्यों को सजमजत की बैठकों में भाग लने े पर संसि सिस्ट् य (वेतन, भत् ता एव ं
पेंिन) अजधजनयम, 1954 के प्रावधानों एवं समय-समय पर िारी ककए गए संिोधनों तथा उसके अधीन बनाए

OM No. II/20015/45/87-OL(A-2) dated 15 March, 1988 and in supersession of the Department of Agriculture,

(2) Functions of the Samiti:-
The functions of the Samiti will be to render advice with regard to the implementation of the provisions relating
to Official Language contained in the Constitution, Official Languages Act and Rules and policy decisions of the
Kendriya Hindi Samiti and instructions issued by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs
relating to Official Language and also with regard to progressive use of Hindi in official work of the Ministry of
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
(3) Tenure of the Samiti:-
Generally, the tenure of the Samiti will be for a period of three years, from the date of its constitution, provided
that:-
a) Any member, who is a Member of Parliament, if he/she ceases to be the Member of Parliament, will also cease
to be member of the Samiti;
b) Ex-officio members of the Samiti will continue to be members till they hold the post, by virtue of which they
are the members of the Samiti;
c) If any seat falls vacant due to resignation or death etc. of any member, the member appointed in his/her place,
will remain member of the Samiti for the remaining term;
d) In special circumstances, the tenure of the Samiti can be curtailed or extended by the Ministry.
(4) General:-
The headquarters of the Samiti will be New Delhi but if considered necessary, meetings can be organised at

(5) TA & other allowances:-
a) The Members of the Parliament nominated in the Samiti, will be remunerated Travelling Allowance/Daily
Allowance as per the provisions in the ‘Members of Parliament (Salary, Allowance & Pension) Act, 1954 and
amendments issued from time to time and rules made thereunder vide Department of Official Language Office
Memorandum No. II/20034/04/2005-O.L. (Policy-2) dated February 3, 2006 for participating in meetings of
the Samiti.
b) Travelling Allowance/Daily Allowance to other non-official members of the Samiti will be paid as per the
guidelines contained in the Department of Official Language Office Memorandum No. II/20034/04/86-O.L.
(A-2) dated 22 January, 1987 keeping in view the high level status of the Committee and in accordance with
the prescribed rates and rules as amended from time to time by the Government of India.
