A Regional Training Camp on the Annual Survey of Incorporated Service Sector Enterprises
(ASISSE) was organized by the National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Regional
Office, Mumbai, under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of
India, on Monday, March 23, 2026.
The training camp was inaugurated by Ms. P. A. Mini, Deputy Director General and Regional
Head, National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division) Mumbai with the traditional lighting of
the lamp. The inaugural session was attended by senior officers including Ms. Bhagyashree
Sathe, Director, Ms. Karne Rupali Dasharath, Deputy Director, Shri Rajagopal Krishnan, Assistant
Director, NSO FOD Mumbai and Shri H. V. Rabhadia, Assistant Director, Sub-Regional Office
Thane.
In her inaugural address, Deputy Director General and Regional Head , NSSO FOD Mumbai, Ms.
Mini highlighted that the primary objective of the Annual Survey of Incorporated Service Sector
Enterprises is to develop a comprehensive database of the corporate service sector in the
country. The survey aims to collect detailed information on economic and operational
characteristics, employment and related parameters from incorporated service sector
enterprises. She emphasized that the data collected will be record-based and strictly confidential
in nature. She further informed that the fieldwork for the survey will commence from April 1,
2026.During the technical sessions, Ms. Mini elaborated on the survey methodology stating that a
robust list based sampling frame has been developed using the Goods and Services Tax Network
(GSTN) database. This frame includes all active incorporated service sector and trading
enterprises registered up to March 31, 2025. She explained that the survey will adopt a single
stage stratified random sampling design for ASISSE 2026.
The detailed schedule of enquiry for the survey was presented by Ms. Bhagyashree Sathe,
Director, National Statistics Office, Regional Office Mumbai who provided comprehensive
guidance to field officials regarding data collection procedures and survey instruments.
The training camp witnessed active participation from more than 100 field officials representing
the National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Regional Office Mumbai, and Sub-
Regional Office Thane.
