Rt.No. 142 Dated: 10.2.2012 Read the following:- From the Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation Lr. No. DCE – II /OT1/AE ( R ) / MDK / Kothurvagu Project / 2011, dated 1.12.2011. <<00>> ORDER:- In the letter read above, the Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation has submitted an estimate for Rs. 370.00 lakhs for the work Improvements to Kothurvagu Project, Yedakulapally Village, Jharasangam Mandal, Medak District stating that the tank is having 1,100 acres of ayacut. Out of 1,100 acres, only 200 to 250 acres of ayacut is being cultivated every year. The total length of bund is 700 m for which the repairs were not carried out since ten years. The bund slopes are badly slipped and gullies are formed at several places. The existing top levels are much below the required levels. The tank is consisting of 2 Nos. of sluices @ Ch 21.00 and Ch 33.00. The sluice @ Ch 21.00 is intact and sluice @ Ch 33.00 is damaged. The bottom of sluice well is slipped and facing trouble for operation. The LF & RF channel canal banks on u/s & d/s of acquiducts, siphons and road culverts, drops etc. are damaged. Further he has stated that an amount of Rs. 5.40 lakhs for the components ie., clearing thick jungle to the bund slopes and excavation and removal of silt or silt mixed with sand in slushy condition from canal bed will be taken up under MGNREGP. Hence he has requested to accord administrative approval for Rs. 370.00 lakhs Under Normal State Plan. 2. Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby accord administrative approval for Rs. 370.00 lakhs (Rupees three hundred and seventy lakhs only) for the work “Improvements to Kothurvagu Project Yedakulapally Village, Jharasangam Mandal, Medak District” 3. Out the expenditure sanctioned at para 2 above, an amount of Rs. 364.60 lakhs shall be debitable to the Head of Account “ 4702 on COL on MI – MH 101 – Surface water – GH (11) – Normal state plan – SH (12) – Construction and restoration of M.I sources – 530 Major works – 531 other expenditure”. 4. The Rural Development Department have agreed to include the work (i) clearing thick jungle to the bund slopes for and (ii) excavation and rmoval of silt or silt mixed with sand in slushy condition from canal bed under shelf of project for taking up it under MGNREGP. Hence, the remaining amount of Rs. 5.40 lakhs for the component of (i) clearing thick jungle to the bund slopes and (ii) excavation and removal of silt or silt mixed with sand in slushy condition from canal bed shall be proposed under MGNREGP funds in consultation with Rural Development Department. 5. The Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation, Hyderabad shall take further action accordingly. 6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (Expr. PW) Dept vide U.O. No. 1067/37/A1/Expr.PW/12 dated 23.1.2012 and PR & RD (RD) Deptt., vide their U.O. No. Nil dated 8.2.2012.
