Read: From the Chief Engineer, APERL, Hyderabad, Lr.No.APERL/ TS/T2/Misc.38/2011/194, Dt.8-8-2011. *** ORDER: The Chief Engineer, A.P. Engineering Research Laboratories in his letter read above, has informed that A.P. Engineering Research Laboratories being a research organization, in the field of Civil Engineering is catering to the testing needs of various Engineering Departments of Government of A.P., Govt. of India, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Bodies and Private Agencies. The APERL is also guiding Civil Engineering Students who are doing their Project / Thesis work and providing consultancy and reliable testing services for Civil Engineering construction materials such as Soils, Rock, Cement, Concrete, Bitumen etc., and Carrying Model Studies & Hydrological Studies for the proposed / existing Major and Medium Irrigation projects at design, execution or operational stages and conducting hydrographic surveys of reservoirs for estimation of present capacity of reservoir and the rate of sedimentation. Research Institutions like CWPRS, NIH, CSMRS, CBIP etc., are coordinating the research activities in various research centers of the Nation. In order to keep abreast with the latest technology and changing scenario in the Civil Engineering field, the above agencies conduct workshops, seminars, conferences, training etc., by collecting nominal registration fee. 2. The Chief Engineer, A.P. Engineering Research Laboratories has further informed that being the only research organization of its kind in the entire state of Andhra Pradesh, it is necessarily required to depute the staff from this lab who are engaged in research activity to those workshops, seminars, conferences, training etc., being organized at various places of the nation to keep in touch with the luminaries in the profession besides updating their technical skills. Keeping in view of the importance of participating of the personnel in the conferences / seminars workshops etc., it is desirable that Chief Engineer, APERL be permitted to depute personnel to attend such conferences etc. Most of the intimations regarding conferences/ seminars / trainings / workshops are being received by APERL at short notice i.e., less than fortnight before the commencement of the said programmes. As a result, it is becoming difficult to obtain permission from Government on time to attend and pay the registration fee for participation due to such short notices. The Chief Engineer, APERL has finally requested the Government to permit him to accord permission at his level to the officers / staff who are proposed to attend such Workshops / Seminars / Conferences / Trainings Courses etc., with in the country and pay the required registration fees up to Rs.10,000/- for each individual from the available funds of APERL. Engineering Research Laboratories, Hyderabad at his level to depute the officers / staff who are proposed to attend such Work shops / Seminars / Conferences / Training Courses etc., within the country and pay the required registration fees up to Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) for each individual from the available funds of A.P. Engineering Research Laboratories, Hyderabad. 4. The Chief Engineer, APERL, Hyderabad shall take necessary action accordingly. 5. This order issues with the concurrence of General Administration (AR&T) Dept. vide their U.O.No.29752/AR&T.IIII(1)/2011-1, Dated 16-9-2011 and Finance (Exp.PW) Department vide their U.O.No.26416/827/A1/ Exp.PW/11, Dated 11-11-2011.
