Minor Irrigation – Medak District – Construction of check dams in Medak district viz., (i)
Construction of check dam across Siddipetvagu near Kasturipally Village, Chinnakodur
Mandal Medak District, (ii) Construction of check dam across Peddavagu near Baswapur
road, Akkanapally Village, Nangnoor Mandal, Medak District, and (iii) Construction of
check dam across Peddavagu near Peddolabavi, Ghanpur Village, Nangnoor Mandal Medak
District – Administrative approval for Rs.771.50 lakhs – Accorded – orders – issued.

ORDER:-
In the letter read above, the Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation has submitted three
estimates for Rs. 771.50 lakhs for construction of Check Dams in Medak District viz., (i)
Construction of check dam across Siddipetvagu near Kasturipally Village, Chinnakodur
Mandal (ii) Construction of check dam across Peddavagu near Baswapur road, Akkanapally
Village, Nangnoor Mandal, and (iii) Construction of check dam across Peddavagu near
Peddolabavi, Ghanpur Village, Nangnoor Mandal stating that the ryots and villagers have
represented to construct the above check dams to recharge ground water level in bore wells
all along the river to stabilize an ayacut of 55 acres, 285 acres and 281 acres respectively.
The Engineer-in-Chief (AW) has accorded Hydrological clearance for the above 3 check
dams for utilization of 2.20 Mcft of water to irrigate an indirect ayacut of 55 acres in respect
of Siddipetvagu near Kasturipally village, 11.40 Mcft of water to irrigate an indirect ayacut of
285 acres in respect of Peddavagu, near Akkanapally Village, 11.25 Mcft of water to irrigate
an indirect ayacut of 281 acres in respect of Peddavagu near Poddolabavi, Ghanpur village.
Further he has stated that none of the component of these check dams fits into
MGNREGP. Hence he has requested to accord administrative approval for Rs. 771.50 lakhs
Under Normal State Plan for the above 3 works.
2. Government after careful examination, hereby accord administrative approval for Rs.
771.50 lakhs (Rupees Seven hundred seventy one lakhs and fifty thousand only) for

3. The expenditure sanctioned at para 2 above shall be debited to the Head of Account
“ 4702 on COL on MI – MH 101 – Surface water – GH (11) – Normal state plan – SH (12) –
Construction and restoration of M.I sources – 530 Major works – 531 other expenditure”.
4. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (Expr. PW) Department Vide their
U.O. No. 662/26/A1/Expr.PW/12 dated 21.1.2012.
