I&CAD – K.C.Canal – Permission to take up Permanent restoration of flood
damages occurred during the month of 10/2009 for K.C.Canal in the reach
from Km.150.00 to Km.237.00 for an amount of Rs.1,50,33,900/- – Accorded

O R D E R:
In the reference read above, the Chief Engineer (P), Irrigation,
Kurnool has informed that Tungabhadra River experienced unprecedented
floods during the month of October, 2009 and heavy rains had occurred in
Kurnool District. Due to this, the Sunkesula Barrage was damaged badly
and the K.C Canal had suffered damages and breaches. The temporary
restoration / immediate works were taken up immediately and the system
has restored to resume the irrigation and to cater the needs of the drinking
water supply, utilizing the amounts sanctioned by Government vide
G.O.Ms.No.124, dt.I&CAD (Maj.X) Department dt.9.10.2009, now the
permanent restoration works are to be taken up. He has submitted an
estimate for permanent restoration works of K.C.Canal in the reach from Km
150.00 to Km 237.00, and informed that in view of urgency, these
restoration works are to be carried out in the next closure period. And that
it was requested to accord necessary administrative approval for
Permanent restoration works of the flood damages occurred during 10/2009
for K.C.Canal in the reach from Km.150.00to Km.237.00 for an amount of
Rs.1,50,33,900/-
2. Government after careful examination of the above proposal hereby
accord permission to take up following Permanent restoration works of the
flood damages occurred during 10/2009 for K.C.Canal in the reach from
Km.150.00to Km.237.00 for an amount of Rs.1,50,33,900/- (Rupees one
crore fifty lakhs thirty three thousand and nine hundred only).

4. Permanent Restoration of Flood damaged Rs.4,36,500/-
cause way at km 1.369 on Chapadu Channel.
5. Permanent Restoration of Flood damaged Rs.4,98,000/-
cause way at km 4.413 on Chapadu Channel.
6. Permanent Restoration of breach portion and Rs.93,000/-
damaged lining at km 3.50 on No.2 distributory
under Chapadu Channel.
7. Permanent Restoration of Flood damaged Rs.2,55,900/-
lining at km 1.369, km 2.780 and km 4.464 of
Chapadu Channel.
Total Rs.1,50,33,900/-
3. The expenditure sanctioned in para (2) above shall be debitable to
the Head of Account “4711 colon flood control project (01) flood control M.H
(103) civil works G.H-11 NSP-S.H (05) embankments 530 Major works 531-
other expenditure”, and to be met from the budget provision for the financial
year 2012-13.
4. The Chief Engineer (Projects), Irrigation, Kurnool shall take further
action accordingly and ensure that sufficient budget provision is made in
2012-13 Budget Estimate.
5. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (W&P) Department
vide their U.O.No.4375/F5/A2/2011, dt.31-01-2012.
