Note from the Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, dated: 29.02.2012. *** O R D E R: In the letter 1st read above, the Commissioner of Labour and in the letter 2nd read above the Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Building & Other Construction Worker’s Welfare Board have furnished proposals for issue of ID cards to all the Building & Other Construction workers registered as beneficiaries by fixing at the rate of Rs.9/- . 2. In the reference 3rd read above the Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has reported that during special drive, the department is facing unpleasant situations for not distributing ID Cards, even elected representatives among MLAs/MPs are involving and demanding for issue of ID cards to building and construction workers rather than Pass books and he has requested to permit him to issue ID cards to the Workers at the rate of Rs.9/- for each ID card. 3. Government after careful examination of the proposals and in exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 33-L of the Andhra Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers’ (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules 1999, hereby permit the COL / the Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board for issue of ID cards to the workers at the rate not exceeding Rs.9/- for each ID card in addition to pass books duly following the competitive bidding process. 4. The Commissioner of Labour shall take necessary action in the matter.
