GOVERNMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH ABSTRACT R&B Department – APRDC– Widening and Strengthening of Elkaturthy – Siddipet Road from Km. 19/4 to 21/0 and from Km. 22/4 to 23/9 in Karimnagar District-Administrative Sanction - Permission –Accorded- Orders-Issued -------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRANSPORT, ROADS & BUILDINGS (R.IV) DEPARTMENT G.O.Rt.No. 357 Dated:03-04-2012 Read the following: From the CE(R&B) CRN & MD, APRDC, Lr.No.APRDC / KMNR / GM / EE / DEE 8 / AEE 17/ 2011, dt. 24.8.2011 and 27-2-2012. *** ORDER: In the letter read above, the Chief Engineer (R&B) CRN & Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation, Hyderabad, has stated that Elkathurthy – Siddipet Road is an important MDR connecting two important State Highways i.e., Hyderabad – Karimnagar – Ramagundam Road and Rayapatnam – Kodad Road. The total length of the road is 46 km out of which the stretch from km. 21/0 to 22/4 & from km 23/9 to 65/4 is double lane road. The stretch from km 19/4 to 21/0 and from 22/4 to 23/9 is single lane road necessitating the road widening in this reach. The existing road width is 3.66 m and the crust is 400 mm. The existing formation width is 7 m and is proposed to be widened to 10m. The proposed stretch is renewed during 1996/97. The traffic intensity on the road is 8264 PCU’s per day. 2. The Chief Engineer (R&B) CRN & Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation, has also stated that as per the IRC 64 -1990 guidelines for capacity roads in Rural areas, the recommended design service volume for single lane road in plain terrain with low degree of curvature (i.e., 0-50 degrees per kilometer) is 2000 PCU’s per day, where as the recommended design service volume for Intermediate lane road in plain terrain with low degree of Curvature is 6000 PCU’s per day. As the traffic intensity on the above road i.e., 8264 PCU’s per day is greater than the design service volume for Intermediate lane road, the above road requires to be to be widened to two-lanes. 3. The Chief Engineer (R&B) CRN & Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation, Hyderabad, has therefore requested the Government to accord permission for “widening and strengthening of Elkathurthy – Siddipet Road from km. 19/4 to 21/0 and from 22/4 to 23/9 in Karimnagar District” for administrative sanction of Rs. 200.00 lakhs(two hundred lakhs only) under any relevant head of account of Corenet roads by providing of funds. (PTO)-2- 4. After careful examination of the matter, Government hereby accord administrative sanction of Rs. 200.00 lakhs (two hundred lakhs only) for “widening and strengthening of Elkathurthy – Siddipet Road from km. 19/4 to 21/0 and from 22/4 to 23/9 in Karimnagar District”, under the head of Account”5054-Capital Out Lay on Roads and Bridges – 04- District and Other Roads – MH-800 Other Expenditure - GH-11- Normal State Plan– SH-33-Core Network Roads(Works)- 530- Major Works – 531- Other Expenditure’. 5. The Chief Engineer (R&B) CRN & Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation, Hyderabad, shall take further necessary action in the matter. 6.
