PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION The following draft amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, issued in G.O.Ms.No.216, Transport, Roads & Buildings (Tr.II) Department, dated: 07.08.1989 and published at pages 1-135 of the Rules Supplement to Part-I Extra-Ordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated 25.08.1989, as subsequently amended which it is proposed to be made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 65 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988(Central Act 59 of 1988), is hereby published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette for the general information of the public as required under sub-section (1) of section 212 of the said Act. Notice is hereby given that the said draft amendment will be taken into consideration by the government after the expiry of a period of thirty (30) days from the date of its publication in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette and any objections or suggestions, which may be received from any person within the aforesaid period thereof will be taken into consideration by the government of Andhra Pradesh. The objections and suggestions should be addressed to the Principal Secretary to Government, Transport, Roads & Buildings Department, Andhra Pradesh Secretariat, Hyderabad in duplicate. AMENDMENT In rule 248 of Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989: (1) In sub-rule (2), for the expression, “at the rate of 5 paise per day or thereof”, the expression, “at the rate of Rs.1.00 per day or thereof”, shall be substituted. (2) In the explanation, for the expression, “at the rate of 5 paise per day or part thereof”, the expression, at the rate of Rs.1.00 per day or part there of”, shall be substituted.
