The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, through Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat)
platform (mybharat.gov.in), successfully organised the Nari Shakti Youth Parliament
in Mumbai on 12 April 2026, ahead of the Grand Finale of the MY Bharat Budget
Quest 2026. The programme was graced by Smt Sujata Patil, Mayor, Navi Mumbai
Municipal Corporation, along with Rajlakshmi Patil, Mayuri Bachchav, Administrative
Head, COE, D Y Patil University and Amit Punde, State Director, MY Bharat
Maharashtra and Goa.Anchored in the theme “Nari Shakti: Viksit Bharat Ki Awaaz – Strengthening
Inclusive Democracy”, the programme witnessed the participation of over 350 young
women, reflecting strong youth engagement in democratic processes.
The initiative forms part of a nationwide exercise conducted across 17 zones,
reaffirming the Government’s commitment to placing Yuva Shakti at the centre of
policy-making. It builds on the consultative spirit of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders
Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026, whose deliberations have contributed to shaping key ideas
reflected in the Union Budget 2026.
In Mumbai, the Youth Parliament brought together young women from diverse
academic, social, and regional backgrounds, creating a structured platform for
deliberation on issues central to India’s democratic and developmental journey.
Participants engaged in parliamentary-style discussions, demonstrating informed
perspectives, constructive dialogue, and a strong commitment to Janbhagidari.
A key highlight of the session was the focused discussion on strengthening women’s
representation in legislative institutions. The deliberations culminated in the
adoption of a formal resolution endorsing the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2026,

B D Somani International School, Kharghar on the same day flagged off by Prashant
Thakur, MLA Panvel, witnessing participation from over 350 youth. The initiative
promoted environmental consciousness, fitness, and sustainable living, reinforcing
the collective commitment towards building a Green and Viksit Bharat.
The successful organisation of the Nari Shakti Youth Parliament in Mumbai at D Y
Patil University Nerul Navi Mumbai and the route was B D Somani International
School passing through Vinayak Seth Chowk and concluded at Cidco Football
Stadium. This reflects MY Bharat’s institutional capacity to mobilise youth at scale
and translate national priorities into impactful grassroots engagement. As India
