NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 6th August, 2015
S.O. 2128(E).—Whereas the Central Government having been satisfied that the public
interest so requires that in pursuance of the provisions of sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of
the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the services in Industry ‘Any Oil Field’ which is
covered by item 17 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947) to be a
Public Utility Service for the purpose of the said Act, as was Notified for a period of six months
with effect from 16.03.2015 vide this Ministry’s Notification dated 23.02.2015.
And whereas, the Central Government is of opinion that public interest requires the
extension of the said period by a further period of six months.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of
clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, the Central Government hereby declares
the said Industry to be a Public Utility Service for the purpose of the aforesaid Act, for a period of
six months with effect from 16th September, 2015.
