ORDER
New Delhi, 24th September, 2014
S.O. 2485(E).— Whereas, the use of Sirmate is likely to cause risk to human beings and animals as their safety
cannot be fully established for want of data necessary to fix Maximum Residue Limits, (MRL) ;
And Whereas, a public notice was issued by the Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee on the
14th November, 2012 asking the registrants of Sirmate which is registered for use in wheat, potato and peanut of furnish
the current status of manufacture or import and data for fixation of Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) thereof;
And whereas, no registrants has come forward for giving details of Sirmate within the stipulated period of thirty
days of the said notice;
And whereas, the Registration Committee decided to withdraw the use of Sirmate as no claimant came forward
in response to the public notice;
And whereas, the Central Government, on being satisfied and after consultation with the Registration
Committee, decided to cancel the certificate of registration granted for Sirmate to all registrants;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 27 read with Section 27 read
with Section 28 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (46 of 1968), the Central Government hereby cancels the certificate of
registration granted for Sirmate to all registrants.
2. This Order shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
