The Central Govt. hereby constitutes the Godavari River Management Board for the administration, regulation, maintenance and operation of such projects on Godavari river, as may be notified by the Central Government from time to time.
This notification, S.O. 1403(E), dated May 28, 2014, announces the central government's constitution of the Godavari River Management Board. This action is taken in exercise of the powers conferred by subsections 1, 4, and 5 of Section 85 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 (6 of 2014). The Board is established for the administration, regulation, maintenance, and operation of projects on the Godavari River, as notified by the central government from time to time.
The Board will consist of the following members:
1. **Chairperson:** An officer of the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India from the Central Water Engineering Group A Service.
2. **Members:** Two members nominated by each of the successor States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, including one technical member (not below the rank of Chief Engineer) and one administrative member to represent the concerned states.
3. **Member:** One expert from the Central Power Engineering Group A Service.
4. **Member Secretary:** An Officer not below the rank of Chief Engineer from the Central Water Engineering Group A Service.
The headquarters of the Godavari River Management Board will be located in Hyderabad. The notification was issued by Urvilla Khati, Joint Secretary, and the file number is 11/2014/SPR.
