NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 13th June , 2014
S.O. 1508 (E). —In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Destructive
Insects and Pests Act, 1914 (2 of 1914), the Central Government hereby makes the following Order further to amend
the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003, namely:—4 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(ii)]
1. Short title and Commencement.- (1) This Order may be called the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India)
(First Amendment) Order, 2014.
(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In Schedule I of Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003, under the heading “Seaports”,
after serial number 39, and the entry relating thereto the following serial number and entries shall be added,
namely :-
“40. Kattupalli (Tamil Nadu)”.
3. In Schedule I, under the heading “Airports”, after serial number 15, and the entry relating thereto the following
serial number and entry shall be added, namely :-
“16. Cochin(Kerala)”.
1. In the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003, in Schedule II, after serial number 63 and
the entries relating thereto the following serial number and entries shall be added in the respective columns:-
64. Kattupalli Tamil Nadu Container Freight Station Regional Plant Quarantine
Station Chennai.
5. In the Schedule V of the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003 against serial number 1
relating to Banana, Plantain and Abaca (Musa spp.) in column 3 the item at (ii) and the entries relating thereto in
columns (4), (5) and (6) shall be deleted.
6. Amendment of Schedule VI.- In the Schedule VI to the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India)
Order, 2003,-
(i) Against serial number 222 relating to Musa spp.(Banana) in column (6) the existing entries shall be
substituted by the following, namely:-

“Commercial imports subject to prior approval of DAC”.
(ii) Against serial number 503 relating to “Prunus avium (Stella Cherry)’ in column (3) against the entry regarding
Rooted cuttings for propagation, in column (4) the entry shall be numbered as (i) thereof, and after the item (i)
so renumbered and the entries relating thereto in column (5) and (6) the following item and entries shall
respectively be inserted, namely :-

(iii) Against serial number 7 relating to Actinidia chinensis and A. Deliciosa(Kiwi) in column (3) against the
entries regarding ‘Fruits for consumption’, against the entry in column (4) relating to ‘Italy’, the existing entries
in column (6) shall be substituted by the following, namely :—

“(i) Pest-free area status for Ceratitis capitata (Mediterranean fruit fly) as per international standards or
(ii) MB fumigation @ 32 g/cubic metre for 3½ hrs at 210C or above or equivalent thereof or
(iii) Pre-shipment/ In-transit cold treatment at 00C or below for 13 days; 0.550C or below for 14 days; 1.10C or below for 18 days
plus in-transit refrigeration against Mediterranean fruit fly”.
