NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 3rd July, 2018
G.S.R. 605(E).— The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Employees' State Insurance
(Central) Rules, 1950 which the Central Government, after consulting the Employees' State Insurance Corporation
proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 95 of the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948 (34
of 1948), is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of the said Section for information of all persons likely to
be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules will be taken into consideration after thirty days
from the date on which the copies of the official Gazette in which this notification is published, are made available to
the public.
Objections and suggestions, if any, may be addressed to Shri S. K. SINGH, Under Secretary, (SS-I), E-mail

The Objections or suggestions, which may be received from any person in respect of the said draft rules
within the period specified above, will be considered by the Central Government.
DRAFT RULES
(1) These rules may be called the Employees' State Insurance (Central) Amendment Rules, 2018.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of its final publication in the Official Gazette.
(3) In the first proviso for Rule 21(1) “Provided that any money may also be paid directly to the account of the
fund in any such Bank” the word “Any such Bank” shall be replaced by “Any Scheduled Commercial Bank
authorized for Government Agency Business”.
(4) Insertion of Explanation –
a. “Scheduled Commercial Bank” means Scheduled Commercial Bank defined by Reserve Bank of India
listed in Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
b. “Authorized bank for Government Agency business means banks notified by OM S-
11012/1(20)/Rly/2008/RBD/2018 issued by D/o Expenditure, M/o Finance dated 07.12.2016 and as
amended time to time.
