DRAFT RULES 1. (1) These rules may be called the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Central (Amendment) Rules, 2016. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Central Rules, 1971, in rule 25, in sub-rule (2), for clause (iv), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:— “ (iv) the rates of wages payable to workmen by the contractor shall not be less than–– (a) the rates prescribed under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (11 of 1948) for such employment where applicable; or (b) the rates, if any, fixed by agreement, settlement or award; or (c) ten thousand rupees, whichever is higher;”.
