NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 25th April, 2018
G.S.R. 414(E).—The following draft rules, which the Central Government proposes in exercise of the
powers conferred by Section 38 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958
(24 of 1958) to amend the National Monuments Authority (Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members
of the Authority and Conduct of Business) Rules, 2011, and hereby published as required by sub-section (2) of
the said section for the information of all persons likely to be effected thereby, and notice is hereby given that
the said rules shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on
which copies of the Gazette of India, in which this notification is published, are made available to the public;
Objections or suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the Director General, Archaeological Survey of
India (Ministry of Culture), 24 Tilak Marg, New Delhi or by email at directorgeneralasi@gmail.com.
The objections or suggestions which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft
rules before the expiry of the said period so specified, shall be considered by the Central Government.
Draft Rules
1. (1) These rules may be called as the National Monuments Authority (Conditions of Service of Chairman
and Members of the Authority and Conduct of Business) Amendment Rules, 2018.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In Rule 3 in Chapter II regarding salaries, allowances and conditions of services, in Rule 3.-
(1) in clause (a) for the words, “fixed salary of rupees eighty thousand per month” the words, “salary and
allowances” shall be substituted;
(2) in clause (b) for the words, figures and signs “in the Higher Administrative Grade in the scale of pay
(Rs.67000/- plus annual increment @3% - 79000/-)”, the words “equivalent to entry level to Higher
Administrative Grade with annual increment” shall be substituted; and
(3) in clause (c) for the words “Rupees three thousand” the words, “Rupees five thousand” shall be
substituted.
