Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal constituted by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Water Resources
This notification, S.O. 511(E), issued by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation on February 16, 2017, announces an amendment to the original notification S.O. 437(E) dated June 2, 1990, regarding the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 16th February, 2017
S. O. 511(E).— Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, constituted
by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Water Resources vide No. S.O. 437(E),
dated the 2nd June, 1990, consequent on the resignation of Justice Dr. Balbir Singh Chauhan;
And whereas, the Chief Justice of India has nominated Mr. Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre, Judge,
Supreme Court to fill the said vacancy under section 5 A of the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956
(33 of 1956).
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4, read with section 5A of the said Act,
the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the said notification, namely :—
In the said notification, for item (i), the following item shall be substituted, namely:—
“(i) Shri Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre ... — Chairman”.
