NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 29th May, 2017
S.O. 1748(E).—Whereas an M/s Indigo Airlines A-320 aircraft VT-IAR was involved in a serious
incident during sector Kolkata-Hyderabad on 27.04.2017.
And whereas, it appears to the Central Government that it is expedient to investigate and determine
the causes and contributory factors leading to the said serious incident and make recommendations to avoid
recurrence of such serious incidents in future.
Now, in the exercise of the powers conferred by the Rule 11(1) of the Aircraft (Investigation of
Accidents and Incidents) Rules, 2012, the Central Government hereby directs that a formal inquiry in the
serious incident be made.
Accordingly, the Central Government hereby appoints a Committee of Inquiry headed by Sh. R. S.
Passi, Deputy Director, AAIB with following members:
(i)(cid:32) Group Capt. Rajesh Kumar, DMS (CA) as member
(ii)(cid:32) Ms. Shilpy Satiya, Air Safety Officer, AAIB as Member
The committee will also take the assistance of other experts/agencies whenever required.
The headquarters of the Committee will be at New Delhi.
The Committee will complete its inquiry and submit its report to the Central Government preferably
within six months.
