NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th January, 2017
S.O. 170(E).—Whereas an M/s Jet Airways B737 aircraft VT-JBG was involved in an accident at Goa on
27.12.2016.
And whereas, it appears to the Central Government that it is expedient to investigate and determine the causes
and contributory factors leading to the said accident and make recommendations to avoid recurrence of such accidents in
future.
Now, in the exercise of the powers conferred by the Rule 11(1) of the Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and
Incidents) Rules, 2012, the Central Government hereby directs that a formal inquiry in the accident be made.
Accordingly, the Central Government hereby appoints a Committee of Inquiry headed by Sh. R. S. Passi,
Deputy Director, AAIB with following members:
(i)(cid:32) Shri Jasbir Singh Largha, Assistant Director, AAIB as member
(ii)(cid:32) Capt. Nitin Anand, Pool of Experts of AAIB as operational member
The committee will also take the assistance of other experts/agencies whenever required.
The headquarters of the Committee will be at New Delhi.
The Committee will complete its inquiry and submit its report to the Central Government preferably within six
months.
