NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 10th July, 2019
S.O. 2456(E).—Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3A of the IMC Act,
1956 as amended through the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2018 (Ordinance 8 of
2018) promulgated on 26th September, 2018, the Central Government constituted a Board of
Governors in supersession to Medical Council of India to exercise the powers and perform the
functions of the Council under the said Act;
Now, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of section 3A of the Indian
Medical Council Act, 1956 as amended through the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Section
Ordinance, 2019 (Ordinance 5 of 2019, the Central Government hereby appoints the following persons
as additional members of the Board of Governors in supersession to Medical Council of India:—
1. Maj Gen Madhuri Kanitkar MD (Pediatrics), DNB (Pediatrics), Dean and Deputy
Commandant of AFMS.
2. Dr. Pankaj M Shah, Advisor, Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute.
