NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 18th December, 2018
S.O. 6210(E).—Whereas the Central Government having been satisfied that public interest so requires that in
pursuance of provisions of sub-clause (vi) of the clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947),
the services engaged in industry ‘Defence establishments’ which is covered under item 8 of the First Schedule to the
Industrial Disputes Act,1947 (14 of 1947 ), to be a Public Utility Service for the purposes of the said Act, as was notified
for a period of six months with effect from 22nd June, 2018 vide this Ministry’s Notification number S.O. 2954(E) dated
the 19th June, 2018.
And whereas the Central Government is of opinion that public interest requires the extension of the said period
for a further period of six months.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of
the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares the said industry to be a public
utility service for the purposes of the aforesaid Act, for a period of six months with effect from the 22nd December, 2018.
