NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 30th July, 2018
S.O. 3728(E).—Whereas the Delhi Government vide notification F.No.31(1)AHD/ 2006/07/
Glanders/4522 dated the 15th January, 2018 with the object of preventing, controlling and eradicating
the Scheduled disease that is affecting equines restricted the movement of equines to and from Delhi
for a period of three months with effect from the date of last culling of the positive reactor equine in
exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Prevention and Control of
Infection and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009;
And whereas, no new cases of glanders disease have been reported to be found positive in
equines since last three months from the date of last culling of the positive reactor equine that is
from the 23rd day of March,2018;
And whereas three months from the date of last culling of the positive reactor equine has
completed on 23rd June, 2018;
And whereas the Delhi Government vide its letter dated the 12th July, 2018 has requested the
Central Government to issue a notification for lifting the restriction on the movement of equines to
and from Delhi;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (5) of section 6 of the
Prevention and Control of Infections and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act 2009 (27 of 2009), the
Central Government on being satisfied that the Schedule disease that may affect equines is no longer
prevalent in Delhi, hereby declares Delhi free from the scheduled disease of glanders and lifts the
restrictions on equines movement to and from Delhi with effect from 23.07.2018.
