अत: अब, उBत अिधिनयम क& धारा 92 क& उपधारा (2) के खंड (ङ) 2ारा "द(cid:22)त शि;य< का उपयोग करते Kए भारतीय
खा(cid:11) सरु (cid:16)ा और मानक "ािधकरण खा(cid:11) सुर(cid:16)ा और मानक (खा(cid:11) उ(cid:22)पा(cid:1)दत मानक और खा(cid:11) सहयो(cid:27)य) िविनयम, 2011
म6 और सशं ोधन करन ेके िलए िनEन िलिखत िविनयम बनाता ह,ै अथा(cid:9)त:्-

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, 13th March, 2018
No. 1/Infant Nutrition/Stds/Notification/FSSAI/2016.- Whereas the draft regulations, namely, Food Safety and
Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2017, were published as required by
sub-section (1) of section 92 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006), vide notification of the Food
Safety and Standards Authority of India number 1/Infant Nutrition/Stds/Notification/FSSAI/2016, dated the 18th April,
2017, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4, inviting objections and suggestions from persons likely
to be affected thereby before the expiry of period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official
Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public;
And whereas copies of the said Official Gazette were made available to the public on the 25th April, 2017;
And whereas objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft regulations have been
considered by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (e) of sub-section (2) of Section 92 of the said Act,
the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Food
Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, namely:-
1. (1) These regulations may be called the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) third
Amendment Regulations, 2018.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, in CHAPTER 2
relating to FOOD PRODUCT STANDARDS,-
(a) in regulation 2.1 relating to “DAIRY PRODUCTS AND ANALOGUES”, in sub-regulation 2.1.9 relating to “FOODS
FOR INFANT NUTRITION”, under sub-heading “Infant Milk Substitutes”, in para 2, after Sl. No. 38 relating to
“Staphylococcus aureas absent in 0.1 gram”, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely;-
“Provided that in ready to drink infant milk substitute, lecithin and ascrobyl palmitate may be used upto
maximum limit of 0.5 gram./100ml., and 1mg./ 100ml. respectively.”;
(b) in regulation 2.4 relating to “CEREALS AND CEREAL PRODUCTS”, in sub-regulation 2.4.15 “BAKERY
PRODUCTS”,-
(i) in para 1 relating to “”BISCUITS”, after the third proviso , the following proviso shall be inserted, namely;-
“Provided also that biscuit may contain baker’s yeast at the levels required under “good manufacturing
practices.”;
(ii) in para 2 relating to “”BREAD”, after the fourth proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely;-
“Provided also that bread may contain baker’s yeast at the levels required under “good manufacturing
practices .”
