गया ह)ै की धारा 4 के अधीन तारीख 16 नवम् बर, 2010 की अिधसूचना संख् या का.आ. 2786 (अ) (cid:7367)ारा तारीख 16 नवम् बर,
2010 को महादायी जल िववाद अिधकरण (िजसे इसम(cid:7286) इसके प(cid:7391)ात् उ(cid:7334) अिधकरण कहा गया ह)ै का गठन िकया गया था;
और उ(cid:7334) अिधकरण से उ(cid:7334) अिधिनयम की धारा 5 की उप-धारा (2) के अधीन तीन वषर् की अविध म(cid:7286), अथार्त् तारीख
5 नवम् बर, 2013 को या उससे पहले अपनी िरपोटर् और िविन(cid:7391)य (cid:7079)स् तुत करने की अपेक्षा की गई थी;

और, केन्(cid:7076)ीय सरकार ने अिधसूचना संख्या का.आ. 2908 (अ), तारीख 13 नवम्बर, 2014 (cid:7367)ारा यह िविन(cid:7391)य िकया
था िक उ(cid:7334) अिधकरण के गठन की (cid:7079)भावी तारीख 21 अगस् त, 2013 होगी और तदनुसार, उ(cid:7334) अिधिनयम की धारा 5 की
उप-धारा (2) के उपबंध(cid:7298) के अधीन महादायी जल िववाद अिधकरण (cid:7367)ारा िरपोटर् और िविन(cid:7391)य दने े के िलए तीन वषर् की
अविध तारीख 21 अगस् त, 2013 से (cid:7079)ारम्भ होगी;
और, उ(cid:7334) अिधकरण से तारीख 20 अगस् त, 2016 को या उसके पूवर् उसकी िरपोटर् और िविन(cid:7391)य (cid:7079)स्तुत करने की
अपेक्षा की गई थी;
और, उ(cid:7334) अिधकरण ने केन्(cid:7076)ीय सरकार से िरपोटर् और िविन(cid:7391)य (cid:7079)स्तुत करने की अविध तारीख 21 अगस् त, 2016 से
एक वषर् के िलए और बढ़ाने का अनुरोध िकया था;
और, केन्(cid:7076)ीय सरकार ने अिधसूचना संख्या का.आ. 2686(अ) तारीख 11 अगस्त, 2016 (cid:7367)ारा िरपोटर् और िविन(cid:7391)य
की (cid:7079)स्तुित की अविध को तारीख 21 अगस् त, 2016 से एक वषर् की और अविध के िलए िवस्तािरत कर िदया था;
और, उ(cid:7334) अिधकरण ने केन्(cid:7076)ीय सरकार से िरपोटर् और िविन(cid:7391)य (cid:7079)स्तुत करने की अविध तारीख 21 अगस् त, 2017 से
एक वषर् के िलए और बढ़ाने का अनुरोध िकया ह;ै

अतः अब, केन्(cid:7076)ीय सरकार, अन्तररािज्यक नदी जल िववाद अिधिनयम, 1956 की धारा 5 की उप-धारा (2) के
परंतुक (cid:7367)ारा (cid:7079)द(cid:7275) शि(cid:7334)य(cid:7298) का (cid:7079)योग करते हुए, महादायी जल िववाद अिधकरण (cid:7367)ारा िरपोटर् और िविन(cid:7391)य (cid:7079)स्तुत करने की
अविध को तारीख 21 अगस् त, 2017 से एक वषर् की अविध के िलए बढ़ाती ह।ै

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 24th July, 2017
S.O. 2332(E).—Whereas, the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal (hereinafter referred to as the said
Tribunal) was constituted on the 16th November, 2010 vide notification number S.O. 2786(E), dated the
16th November, 2010 under section 4 of the Inter-State River Water Disputes, Act, 1956 (33 of 1956)
(hereinafter referred to as the said Act) for the adjudication of the water disputes regarding Inter-State river
Mahadayi and river valley thereof;
And Whereas, the said Tribunal was required to submit its report and decision under sub-section (2) of
section 5 of the said Act within a period of three years, i.e. on or before the 15th November, 2013 ;
And Whereas, the said Tribunal had requested the Central Government to reckon the effective date of
its functioning, i.e. 21st August, 2013 to be the date of its constitution for the propose of sub-section (2) of
section 5 of the said Act;
And Whereas, the Central Government vide notification number S.O. 2908(E), dated the
13th November, 2014, had decided that the effective date of constitution of the said Tribunal shall be the
21st August, 2013, and accordingly, under the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 5 of the said Act, the
period of three years for submission of report and decision by the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal shall
commence from the 21st August, 2013;
And Whereas, the said Tribunal was required to submit its report and decision on or before the
20th August, 2016;
And Whereas, the said Tribunal had requested the Central Government to extend the period of
submission of report and decision for a period of one year with effect from the 21st August, 2016;
And Whereas, the Central Government vide notification number S.O. 2686(E), dated the 11th August,
2016, had extended the period of submission of report and decision for a period of one year with effect from
the 21st August, 2016;
And Whereas, the said Tribunal has requested to extend the period of submission of report and
decision for a period of one year with effect from the 21st August, 2017;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (2) of section 5 of
the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956, the Central Government hereby extends the period of
submission of report and decision by the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal for a period of one year with
effect from the 21st day of August, 2017.
