NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE DEPARTMENT AMENDMENTS TO THE SPECIAL RULES FOR THE TAMIL NADU MEDICAL SERVICE [G.O.Ms. No.322, Health and Family Welfare (B2), 15th July 2025, Aani 31, Visuvaavasu, Thiruvalluvar Aandu-2056.] No. SRO B-29(a)/2025. In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Medical Service (Section 21 in Volume II of the Tamil Nadu Services Manual, 1969). 2. The amendments hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on and from the 5th August 2021. Amendments, In the said Rules, in rule 18,- (1) for the expression “category 2 (Assistant Surgeons) of Class I”, the expression "Category 2 Assistant Surgeon in General line of Class I and Category 4 Assistant Dental Surgeon of Class IX” shall be substituted; (2) in clause (b), for the expression "category 2", the expression "Category 2 of Class I and Category 4 of Class IX” shall be substituted; (3) in clause (c), - (a) for the expression "Assistant Surgeons”, the expression “Assistant Surgeon in General line and Assistant Dental Surgeon” shall be substituted; (b) for the expression "Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission”, the expression "Medical Services Recruitment Board' shall be substituted; (c) for the expression “category 2 of class I”, the expression “Category 2 of Class I and Category 4 of Class IX” shall be substituted; [ 1 ] III-1(b)—Ex. (373)2 TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY (4) in clause (d), - (a) in sub-clause (1), for the expression "Assistant Surgeons”, the expression "Assistant Surgeon in General line and Assistant Dental Surgeon" shall be substituted; (b) in sub-clause (iii), for the expression "Assistant Surgeon", the expression "Assistant Surgeon in General line and Assistant Dental Surgeon” shall be substituted; and (5) after clause (d), the following clause shall be added, namely:- "(e) The turn and the order of rotation for Ex-Servicemen as specified in Schedule-VII to the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 2016) (applicable to Group-C posts) shall be followed for selection for appointment to the posts of Assistant Surgeon in the General line and Assistant Dental Surgeon (Group-B posts) made by direct recruitment, who have been deputed for military duty and for non-service candidates who rendered military service in connection with Short Service Commission or Regular Service Commission”.
