Engagement of ‘Young Professional Level-I ’ and ‘Young Professional Level-II’ in
Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) on Contract Basis
Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA/ Authority), is a statutory
regulatory body established under the PFRDA Act, 2013, to promote, develop and regulate
pension schemes covered under the Act.
PFRDA Young Professional Program (YPP) is intended to provide an exceptional opportunity
to qualified and motivated young professionals to learn the nuances of the pension market,
system & schemes and functioning of a regulatory organization by working on different projects
in the Authority.
PFRDA hereby invites application from Indian citizens for engagement as ‘Young Professional
Level – I’ and ‘Young Professional Level – II’ purely on contract basis, as per the details given

Page 4 of 9Note: No supplementation on account of any other benefits will be made. However, in case
Young Professional is deputed for duty out of station, he/she be paid TA/DA as per the
entitlements equivalent to Grade ‘A’ officer of the Authority.
Incentive to continue: Young Professionals engaged at Level-I and Level-II shall be
entitled to increment of Rs. 5,000/- after completion of one year subject to satisfactory
performance. Young Professional engaged at Level-I can move over to Level-II on completion
of mandatory requirements, subject to performance assessment and other factors including
integrity during the tenure served, however, he/she shall be considered for Young Professional
Level-II only after completion of 2 years as Young Professional Level-I.
In the event of death, injury or illness of the Young Professional during the term of his/her
engagement, whether or not attributable to discharge of his/her responsibilities under the
engagement, either at any of premises of the Authority or during official travel, neither the
Young Professional nor his/her dependents, legal heirs, claimants, etc. shall be entitled to any
compensation or employment in the Authority.
Young Professional shall be solely responsible for taking out and maintaining adequate
insurance, such as life, health or any other type, at their own expense, as they may consider
appropriate to cover the period of their engagement with the Authority.
3. Term of engagement:
i. The contractual engagement shall be for an initial period of three (03) years, unless
terminated earlier, which period may be extended, subject to Authority being satisfied
that such extension is deserved, based on performance assessment and other factors
including integrity during the tenure served.
ii. The contract of engagement can be terminated by either side by giving 90 days’ advance
notice or by making payment of 90 days’ pay in lieu thereof, without assigning any
reasons therefor.
iii. Notwithstanding the above, the Authority, shall have the right to terminate the contract
on grounds of misconduct or lack of satisfactory performance or where in the opinion of
the Authority, such a person is not fit to hold the contract or has given any false
information or declaration to secure such engagement as such without notice or
compensation. Both the parties shall also have the option to terminate the contract
without assigning any reasons in terms of the contract.
iv. Person engaged as Young Professional should not have been convicted of any offence
involving moral turpitude or fraud or for commission of any economic offences. He/she
should not have been debarred or restrained from carrying on any professional activity
or penalised by any regulator, court of law or other authority.

i. A candidate shall be permitted to apply only for one level. Multiple applications under the
same/different level shall lead to cancellation of candidature.
ii. Applications which are incomplete, or not in specified format, or received after the
prescribed date or received without supporting documents in respect of educational
qualification and experience will not be considered further and summarily rejected.
iii. The crucial date for determining eligibility, including upper age limit, qualification and
experience requirements etc., will be closing date of application.
iv. Mode of engagement of Young Professional shall be done through a 3-step process,
Application Screening, Written Test and Interview. The Competent Authority reserves the
right to modify the procedure for engagement, if deemed fit.
v. Candidates should satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the contractual position
applied for. The Authority shall determine their eligibility only at the final stage, i.e., while
calling them for interview.
vi. The competent authority reserves the right to relax any of the eligibility criteria in deserving
cases.
vii. The Candidate engaged will NOT be entitled for permanent employment with the PFRDA,
under any circumstances, at any point of time.
viii. Merely fulfilling the eligibility conditions laid down in the advertisement as regards
qualifications and experience, would not automatically entitle any candidate to be called
for the Written Test and Interview. The Competent Authority reserves the right to raise the
minimum standards in respect of qualification and experience in order to restrict the
number and shortlist the pool of candidates for Interview.
ix. The Authority reserves the right to cancel this advertisement fully or partly at any
time/stage on any grounds without assigning any reasons therefor, or not invite any
candidate for engagement at all.
x. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification of the candidate.
xi. If a candidate is not eligible or has knowingly or wilfully furnished incorrect or false
particulars or suppressed material information, his/her candidature will be liable to be
cancelled at any stage of the engagement or even post engagement without any
emoluments or consideration and without further prejudice to any other action which the
Competent Authority may deem fit to take including termination of contract without any
notice.
Page 6 of 9xii. Applications received after due date will not be entertained. The Authority takes no
responsibility for any delay in receipt of application or loss thereof in postal transit.
xiii. The decision of Authority in all matters would be final and binding, and no correspondence
in this regard would be entertained. Only courts at New Delhi (with the exclusion of all
other Courts) shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to decide on any dispute in connection
with this selection process. Post engagement, the disputes, if any shall be governed as
per terms of the contract.
