No. HQ-13011/2/2021-AUTH-II (No. 01 of 2023).—In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) and sub-clauses (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 54 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 as amended vide the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Act, 2019 (No. 14 of 2019) hereby makes the following amendment in Regulation 12(1) and (2) of the Aadhaar (Authentication and Offline Verification) Regulations, 2021, namely:— Part I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These regulations may be called the Aadhaar (Authentication and Offline Verification) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2023 (No. 01 of 2023). (2) These regulations shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.[भाग III—खण् ड 4] भारत का राजपत्र : असाधारण 3 Part II 2. Amendment of Regulation 12(1): Existing Regulation 12(1) of the principal Regulation shall be substituted as following:— “Agencies seeking to become requesting entities to use the authentication facility provided by the Authority shall apply for appointment as requesting entities in accordance with the procedure as may be specified by the Authority for this purpose from time to time provided that the purpose, for which authentication services are required, is permitted under the provisions of Sections 4(4) (b) (i) or 4(4) (b) (ii) or 4(7) or 7 of the Act.” 3. Deletion of Schedule A to Regulation 12(1): Schedule A to Regulation 12(1) of the principal Regulation stands deleted. 4. Amendment of Regulation 12(2): In Regulation 12(2) of the principal Regulation, words “Schedule B” shall be read as “Schedule A”. 5. Amendment of Schedule B to Regulation 12(2): “Schedule B” to Regulation 12(2) of the principal Regulation shall be read as “Schedule A”.
