No. DE-54-2019.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 20 of the Dentists Act, 1948, the Dental Council of India, in supersession of GOI’s letter No.V.12025/1/98-DE dated 15/16 July, 2009, with the previous sanction of the Central Government, hereby makes the following Amendments to the existing principal Dental Council of India Dental Hygienists Course Regulations, 2008, published in Part III, Section 4 of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated 19th August, 2008 namely:– 1. Short title and commencement:– (i) These Regulations may be called the Dental Council of India Dental Hygienists Course (1st Amendment) Regulations, 2020. (ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In existing ―Dental Council of India Dental Hygienists Course Regulations, 2008‖, under the main Head “REGULATIONS FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL STANDARD FOR DENTAL HYGIENISTS:” for regulation 2, the following regulation is hereby substituted namely: 2(1) „Subject to the fulfillment all other requirement as prescribed herein after, the dental college desirous to start diploma in Dental Hygiene shall apply to the Dental Council of India with an application fee of Rs. 1.5 lakh plus GST as applicable by Demand Draft/Pay Order/NEFT/RTGS in favour of „Secretary, Dental Council of India, payable at Delhi‟, after obtaining Essentiality Certificate from the respective State Government for technical scrutiny and for obtaining the necessary permission for starting/Increase of seats the Dental Hygienists Course. The Government Dental Colleges/Institutions are exempted from any application/Inspection fee. 2(2) The college, when its first batch appears its final year diploma course examination, shall apply to DCI alongwith a recognition fee of Rs.3 lakhs plus GST as applicable, for recognition of its diploma in Dental Hygiene u/s 11 of the Dentists Act[भाग III—खण् ड 4] भारत का राजपत्र : ऄसाधारण 3 by Demand Draft/Pay Order/NEFT/RTGS in favour of „Secretary, Dental Council of India, payable at Delhi‟, Further the college shall pay Rs. 1.5 lakhs plus GST as applicable for each subsequent compliance verification, if any, within 15 days from the date of inspection.
