अिधकतम संrया पर कोई सीमा नहu ह।ै बशत~ (cid:4)क अwयथx पंजीयन के िलए केवल तब पा> होगा जब वह मौिखक परीEा उ.ीणS कर ले और अिनवायS Wलीिनकल सEमता -िशEण पूरा कर ले”। 6. मूल िविनयम सं. 16, एतQारा हटाया जाता ह।ै डॉ सPयसाची साहा, सिचव [िवsापन-III/4/असा./234/18] DENTAL COUNCIL OF INDIA NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th September, 2018 No. DE-147/Misc-I/-2018.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 20 read with Section 10(4) or 10(5) of the Dentists Act, 1948 (16 of 1948), the Dental Council of India, with the approval of the Central Government, hereby makes the following Regulations to further amend the Principal “Dental Council of India Screening Test Regulations, 2009” published on 13th August, 2009, in Part–III, Section (4) of the Gazette of India, namely:— 1. Short title and commencement: (i) These regulations may be called the “Dental Council of India Screening Test (2nd Amendment) Regulations, 2018. (ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Principal Regulation No. 2 (1) new clause (i) defining the word National Eligibility Cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is hereby inserted:- (i) “National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) means any Test or Examination conducted by National Board Examination or by any other authority prescribed by the Central Government, from time to time, under the relevant regulations as amended and framed u/s 10D of the Dentists (Amendment) Act, 2016” 3. In the Principal Regulation No. 5, under the heading ‘Eligibility Criteria’, the clause (a) & (b) of regulations 5 is hereby deleted and substituted by this new provision:- Eligibility Criteria: After commencement of these regulations, no person shall be eligible to obtain Eligibility Certificate unless:- (i) He/she is a citizen of India/OCI/PIO Card holders; and (ii) He/she has qualified the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test; and (iii) The foreign institution where he/she desires to get admission shall be a recognised institution/University in the respective country; and (iv) The course shall be a regular one and full time with the minimum duration of the period as prescribed by DCI in its respective regulations; and (v) The minimum criteria for admission in the foreign Institution/University shall be at par with the criteria prescribed by DCI in its respective regulations as amended from time to time.¹Hkkx IIIµ[k.M 4º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 5 (vi) He/she has been remitted the fee of Rs. 3,000 (Rupees Three Thousand Only) as processing fee by the way of Demand Draft or Pay Order or any Mode of Transaction as the DCI may prescribe from time to time, in favour of Secretary, DCI payable at New Delhi. (vii) He/she fulfils the other requirements as the DCI may prescribe in the facts and circumstances of each case. 4. In the Principal Regulation, the existing provisions of Regulations No. 11, is hereby deleted and substituted by the following new pattern of Screening Test and distribution of the subject and marks, therefore:- Distribution of subject and marks for MDS/PG Diploma for Paper-I Subjects Oral & Ortho Oral Perio. (iii) There will be no negative marking. (iv) There will be no grace marks. (v) The candidate has to score 50% in each paper individually to qualify for appearing in the viva- voce examination. (vi) The standard of DCI Screening Test Exam in respect of MDS/PG Diploma and BDS degree holder would be at par with the standard prescribed for Indian universities. MDS/PG Diploma– Viva-voce examination - 50 The candidate has to separately score 50% in the viva-voce examination. Examiners for Viva-Voce Examination for MDS/PG Diploma There shall be two examiners for Viva-Voce; out of whom, one internal from examining university and one external from any other university which awards recognised Undergraduate and Postgraduate Dental qualification. Compulsory Clinical Competence Training (Applicable only to Post-Graduate degree) The candidate who qualifies the Screening Test for recognition of his MDS Degree/ PG Diploma shall, before issue of the necessary passing certificate to him/her, have to undergo a compulsory clinical competence training for a period of 12 weeks under the guidance of a specialist in the concerned speciality at a recognised Government dental institution which would be near the resident of the candidate. The qualification of examiners appointed for viva-voce for recognition of foreign UG/PG dental qualification would be at par with the qualification prescribed for examiners in the DCI Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007 and MDS Course Regulations, 2007 and 2017, as amended from time to time. The criteria to declare pass the Screening Test The candidate shall have to pass both the theory paper and Viva-Voce separately. In case, any candidate does not qualify a theory paper shall not be allowed to appear in the Viva-Voce and the candidate who fails in Viva-Voce or in one paper of theory shall have to reappear in both the theory paper and Viva-Voce also. The PG students who have to undergo and complete the 12th weeks Compulsory Clinical Competence Training shall be entitled for his add on qualification for its registration with respective State Dental Council. 5. In the Principal Regulation No. 12, providing for restriction of the candidates only to the 3 attempts is hereby deleted and substituted by the following new clause:- “There is no limit on the maximum number of attempts to appear and pass in the Screening Test. Provided that the candidate shall not be eligible for registration unless and until he or she qualify the Viva-Voce and undertake Compulsory Clinical Competence Training” 6.
