The National Highways Authority of India (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Second Amendment
Regulations, 2020
No. 11012/248/2015-Admn.I—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 35, read with Section 9, of the
National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (68 of 1988), the National Highways Authority of India hereby
makes the following regulations further to amend the National Highways Authority of India (Recruitment, Seniority
and Promotion) Regulations, 1996, namely:—
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) these regulations may be called the National Highways Authority of
India (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Second Amendment Regulations, 2020.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Schedule to the principal regulations, the Schedules prescribing the eligibility criteria and
qualifications for the following post shall be inserted, namely:
“Revenue Assistant”
3. In the Schedule to the principal regulations, the Schedules prescribing the eligibility criteria and
qualifications for the following post shall be substituted, namely:
“Financial Analyst”
Foot note : The principal regulations were published vide notification No.NHAI-12011/1/95-Admn., dated 11th
March, 1996, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4, dated the 11th March, 1996 and last amended
vide notification No.11012/260/2015-Admn., dated 11.02.2020 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III Section
4, dated the 11.02.2020.
Explanatory Memorandum:
Anything done or omitted to be done prior to notification of this amendment shall not be affected by promulgation of
this amendment.

(3) By Contract (on organizational need basis) through open
advertisement from applicants possessing educational
qualifications and experience stipulated in Column 7.
Period of deputation:
Initial period of deputation shall be three years, which may be
extended for a period of two years with the approval of
Chairman. Further extension in the period of deputation for
another two years beyond five years shall be done with the
approval of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways,
subject to satisfactory performance.

05 years‟ experience in financial analysis of infrastructure
projects, and possessing essential educational qualifications
stipulated in column 7 (i).
Period of contractual appointment: Three years
extendable by a period of upto 02 years provided the
incumbent does not cross 60 years of age.
Period of Deputation:
Period of appointment on selection shall be for an initial
period of 3 years, extendable by two more years, subject to
satisfactory performance.
