This is an answer to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 1032, answered on February 5th, 2026, regarding accident-prone points on National Highway (NH) 709B, posed by MS Iqra Choudhary to the Minister of Road Transport and Highways (Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari).
The Government has identified 19 blackspots on NH-709B, for which the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has engaged an agency to rectify them; the work is targeted for completion by March 2026.
The State Government has identified 7 accident-prone points on NH-709B from the Shamli bypass to the Saharanpur section in the year 2024-25.

(a) the total number of accident-prone points identified on National
Highway (NH) 709B;
(b) the number and locations of accident-prone points situated in Shamli
and Saharanpur districts;
(c) whether the Government is aware that accidents occur relatively
more frequently on NH 709B between Jalalabad and Nanauta near the
villages Choura and Kamalpur Bakdoli; and
(d) the measures taken/likely to be taken by the Government to reduce
the number of accidents on the said highway keeping in view traffic
behaviour, especially the tendency of vehicles moving in the wrong
direction?

(a) Government identified 19 nos. of blackspot on NH-709B for which
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has already engaged agency
to rectify the same and work is under progress which is targeted to be
completed by March, 2026.(b) 7 Nos. accident-prone points have been identified by State
Government on NH-709B from Shamli bypass to Saharanpur section in
year 2024-25.
(c) & (d) NHAI has invited bids for short-term measures by engaging an
agency to undertake road safety works at the identified 7 nos. accident-
