GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3404 ANSWERED ON 23/03/2026 AMRUT SCHEME IN PUNJAB 3404. SHRI IMRAN PRATAPGARHI: Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the details of the projects approved and completed under the AMRUT scheme in various cities in the State of Punjab, city-wise, (b) the details of total funds released, utilised and pending under the scheme for the State of Punjab, city-wise; (c) whether there has been any delay in the implementation of the projects approved under the AMRUT scheme in the State of Punjab; and (d) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU) (a) to (d): Under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), the States/ Union Territories are empowered to select, appraise, prioritise and implement the projects. As reported by the State of Punjab on AMRUT portal as on 02.03.2026, 163 projects worth ₹2,761.02 crore have been approved, of which total works worth ₹2,511.20 crore have been physically completed. City wise details are given in Annexure. Under AMRUT funds were allocated and released to the State and not city-wise. The State utilise central share funds in any of the approved projects as per their physical/ financial progress. Under AMRUT, Central share of ₹1,190.77 crore have been released to the State for projects, the State has submitted utilisation certificate of the whole amount. The State of Punjab has informed that some projects have been delayed due to land issues, requisite statutory permission, slow progress of work by the agencies, manpower issues, etc. *****ANNEXURE REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) to (d) OF UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.3404 REGARDING “AMRUT SCHEME IN PUNJAB” DUE FOR ANSWER IN THE RAJYA SABHA ON 23.03.2026.
