GANAPATHY RAJKUMAR P: Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state: (a) whether it is true that many people have been punished because of the construction was not of high quality and many officials on duty were also found to be involved in sexual harassment during India's last Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi in 2010; (b) if so, the details thereof; and (c) the details of total number of officials against whom the action was taken in this regard? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS [DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA] (a) For the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010 Delhi, an Organising Committee (OC) was created by Indian Olympic Association (IOA), whose objective was to conduct the Games. The OC was not involved in any kind of construction work which was done during the Games in New Delhi, thus the question of punishment of people on account of construction quality does not arise. Further, as per the available records, no officials of OC, CWG were reported to be involved in sexual harassment during the Games as per the record.
