Parliament Question: Coverage under PMJUGA in Karnataka

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO-6299 TO BE ANSWERED ON-02/04/2026 COVERAGE UNDER PMJUGA IN KARNATAKA 6299. Shri Yaduveer Wadiyar: Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the number of villages identified and covered under PM Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA) in Mysuru and Kodagu districts of Karnataka; (b) the nature of interventions undertaken in these districts under the Abhiyan, including support for education, healthcare, livelihood generation, infrastructure and skill development; (c) the total funds sanctioned and released for implementation of the scheme in Mysuru and Kodagu during the last two years; (d) the measurable outcomes achieved so far in terms of improvement in socio-economic indicators of tribal communities in these districts; and (e) the monitoring mechanisms in place to ensure effective convergence with other central and State welfare schemes in tribal and forest-fringe areas? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI DURGADAS UIKEY) (a): Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA), launched by the Hon’ble PM on October 2, 2024, as Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, aims to saturate infrastructural gaps, improve access to health, education, Anganwadi facilities and providing livelihood opportunities to tribal people of 63,843 villages in 549 districts and 2,911 blocks across 30 States/UTs including one village in Kodagu district and 62 villages in Mysuru district of the State of Karnataka. The abhiyan include 25 interventions of 17 Ministries. (b): As per the information received from the line Ministries under DAJGUA, the details of various interventions undertaken in Mysuru and Kodagu districts of Karnataka under the DAJGUA scheme are placed at Annexure-I. (c): A total amount of ₹14,516.17 lakh has been sanctioned to the Government of Karnataka by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs under the DAJGUA scheme for various activities. Out of the total sanctioned amount, ₹2,181.00 lakh has been allocated for Mysuru district and ₹2,382.50 lakh for Kodagu district during the last two years. As on date, an amount of ₹2,877.50 lakh has been released to the Government of Karnataka by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs under DAJGUA.(d): As per the information received from the line Ministries under DAJGUA, achievement is placed at Annexure 1. (e): Regular review meetings with Ministries/Departments and States/UTs under DAJGUA are conducted to assess the progress of the Abhiyan. These meetings also facilitate monitoring of both physical and financial progress of implementation at the Ministry as well as State/UT levels.
