O.I.H. GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 243 ANSWERED ON 02/02/2026 CURRENT STATUS OF AMRUT 2.0 SCHEME IN RAJASTHAN 243. SHRI RAJENDRA GEHLOT: Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the current status of AMRUT 2.0 scheme in the State of Rajasthan along with the number of cities covered in it and the number of projects approved especially in the Western Rajasthan; (b) the details of amount allocated, released and utilised under the said mission in the State of Rajasthan during the last three years; and (c) the details of the urban infrastructure projects, both completed and under completion, such as water supply, sewerage, drainage, green spaces and urban transport? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI TOKHAN SAHU) (a) to (c): Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0) has been launched on 01 October 2021 in all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)/ cities including all ULBs in the State of Rajasthan, enabling the cities to become 'self-reliant' and 'water secure'. Providing universal coverage of sewerage & septage management in 500 AMRUT cities is one of the major focus areas of AMRUT 2.0. Rejuvenation of water bodies, development of green spaces and parks are other components of the Mission. Under AMRUT 2.0, States/UTs are empowered to select, appraise, prioritise and implement the projects within the broad framework of Mission guidelines. Under AMRUT 2.0, the State Water Action Plans (SWAPs) of the State comprising of 352 projects worth ₹11,267.31 crore (including Central share of ₹3,552 crore) covering 241 ULBs, has been approved. The approved projects include 60 water supply projects worth ₹1,634.73 crore, 13 sewerage and septage management projects worth ₹1,255.05 crore, 42 water body rejuvenation projects worth ₹186.47 crore and 01 parks and green spaces projects worth ₹1.58 crore. Under AMRUT 2.0, during last three years and current financial year (till 20.01.2026) central assistance of ₹745.45 crore has been released/ sanctioned to the State for projects against which the State has submitted utilisation certificates of ₹695.45 crore. *****
