Will the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs be pleased to state:
(a) whether Central Government has taken steps to expedite the disbursement of funds to
facilitate speedy completion of Chennai Metro Rail- Phase II project;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the funds allocated so far till date; and
(c) the details of the funds sanctioned and disbursed from JICA and ADB for the CMRL
Phase II project?
ANSWER

(a) & (b) Yes. Central Government has approved Chennai Metro Rail Phase-II project having
route length of 118.9 km with sanctioned cost of Rs. 63,246.4 cr. The funding pattern of project
is enclosed at Annexure.
(c) Funds to the tune of Rs. 10,354.15 cr. have been disbursed for Chennai Metro Rail
Phase-II project by Central Govt. since its sanction in October 2024. Further, the break up of
funds sanctioned and disbursed from JICA and ADB for Chennai Metro Rail Phase-II project,
are as per table below :
