IMPLEMENTATION OF AMRUT SCHEME IN MANIPUR
221. SHRI MAHARAJA SANAJAOBA LEISHEMBA:
Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the progress of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) in
the State of Manipur;
(b) the target for the completion of drinking water supply mission and ongoing sewerage
project under AMRUT at Imphal Municipality; and
(c) amount of fund released and utilized for the projects?
ANSWER

(SHRI TOKHAN SAHU)
(a) & (b): As reported by the State of Manipur on Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban
Transformation (AMRUT) portal, 6 projects worth ₹211.87 crore have been grounded, which
include 3 water supply projects worth 207.37 crore and 3 parks projects worth ₹4.5 crore.
Works worth ₹202.66 crore have been physically completed. The State has informed that in the
water supply sector, 383.40 km of pipes have been laid in all the 27 wards of Imphal
Municipality and out of 44,000 water meters, 33,218 connections have been made. The date of
completion of water supply project as informed by the State is June, 2026. In sewerage and
septage management sector, State has not taken up any project under AMRUT.
(c) Under AMRUT, total amount of ₹162.28 crore has been released to the State for
projects against which the State has submitted utilization certificates of ₹161.91 crore.
